As many of you probably already noticed, I’m trying to take a more active role in everything to do with plugins, from testing them to giving feedback and mostly trying to move some strings so new creations can move forward and not stay stuck in a limbo before being published or in the beta store (especially when missing only some “simple” things like UI, testing or documentation). A side goal of these efforts of mine is also to allow us to clean up the Beta store.
Therefore, I would like you all to speak your voice!
Are there any Beta plugins that you use regularly?
Are there any plugins in the beta store that you see as valuable for you and/or could be problem solvers?
If you answered “Yes” to at least one of these questions, I would really like you to share those plugins with me so I can start listing them.
In fact, I’ve already started creating this list. My approach to finding out which plugins could be prioritised was by filtering the most recent pedalboards shared on the Pedalboard Feed using beta plugins. I’ve gone so far as around two years back. Yet, there are a few loopholes in this system 1) some pedalboards were simply shared for troubleshooting reasons and 2) some plugins may not be so important, but have been simply inside shared pedalboards.
Please note that this post is not meant for plugin requests, not even for the plugins that have been recently shared here in the forum and are not on the beta store (those we may take a different route). My question is only directed for the plugins already available on the Beta Store.
Thanks in advance for all your help
EDIT: for easier mapping, we created a Google survey. Please go there and “vote” on your plugins
Just a little point for clearness, some of the plugins in your list are already in the stable store. I can think quickly of two: Record-Quad Mini and the FATFROG
I @LievenDV, let’s try a last thing before branching the issue to a new thread. Could you please uninstall and re-install those plugins? Does that fix it?
@LievenDV I just understood now that I was wrong. Those are indeed beta plugins. I’m not sure why, but the beta label was not showing up in my case, but after removing them, it popped up again with the beta label. Sorry by leading you to think that you had an issue that you don’t.
ALO - genius idea - (audio threshold triggered looper with fixable durations) though memory issues
Dave Mollen’s Repeater (a kind of audio monosodium glutomate - incredibly versatile and makes everything sound better)
Midi Display (absolutely essential - but it would be great if someone could write a “log” version which shows timestamped history of midi messages - even if the log is only the last 10 messages)
Calf Mono-compressor (for garagy/psychobilly sound, joined with Screaming Bird + Modulay sounds amazing)
Record-quad (brummer) - unbelievably useful - I found looping live in public, I can get a pure recording of the performance from the mod, which I can then mix with a field recording
(though this can build up a large amount of data in the lv2/recordings (or whatever it is called) which you have to be careful to remove. If the mod could have some way of purging recordings from the device itself rather than via ssh that would be really useful.
(after viewing the full list)
RKR Arpie is amazing - makes the most wonderful otherwordly sounds
RKR MuTroMojo is a really brilliant wah sound
The ZAM compressor is something I really like too
