Clean-up of Beta category in the Plugin Store

Hello dear MOD users,

As part of our ongoing improvements to the Plugin Store, we have hidden all “legacy” Beta plugins from the shop.

Over the years, the Beta category grew without clear criteria. It ended up holding hundreds of LV2 plugins, many without documentation or a UI, and some that no longer worked. As a result, it could no longer serve its real purpose: a testing stage for plugins on their way to the shop.

Turning on “See the Beta Plugins” filled the shop with hundreds of undocumented entries, which made it hard to simply browse and see what was cooking.

This cleanup lets us set up a clear path for new plugins: they will be published to Beta for testing, and then promoted to the main shop. The community is creating lots of new exciting plugins, and we want to give them a route to a wider audience.

What this means for you

Hidden plugins are not gone. Pedalboards that use them keep working, and when you open one of those pedalboards, your unit installs the plugin as before.

If you need a specific legacy Beta plugin, you can find it in one of these two topics:

Legacy Beta plugins: installer pedalboards - A to M

Legacy Beta plugins: installer pedalboards - N to Z

Publishing a new plugin?

@jon is already working through the queue of new submissions. If you have a plugin you’d like to see in Beta, feel free to reach out to him.

Let’s get the new plugins rolling!
