also, if there are no more free slots, the https://sandbox1.moddevices.com/ always works. with a big BUT that session is shared across anyone that joins in.
microphone as input will be set for the last person that connects to it and uses “enable streaming”.
the microphone testing was not very promising, so this will go away when we have some time to look into it again.
This might be a wish, but maybe it is already possible and I just don’t know how, but I think it would be great to be able to hear what the pedalboard sounds like without having to connect an actual MDX (or other) or instrument. Maybe have a generic guitar sound file and maybe a generic midi keyboard sound file that can be played to get a feel for how the pedalboard will sound. My fear is that I might never actually do any work if this were possible.
@falkTX is it possible to push the latest MOD OS to your live system image ? Maybe if you have “some” free time. I am still waiting for my Dwarf which is fine for me, but I really like to play around with the live system and get to know the Pedalboard system and all the rest.
BTW: I’m booting the live system in a VM (VMware Workstation) with a Mackie Onyx BlackJack 2x2 USB Audio Interface. It’s working great out of the box, no input lag whatsoever. Sometimes it freezes but i know it is just a kind of PoC. I’m using it for guitar mainly.
Thanks for your work !
I updated things blindly and triggered a new build, but not sure if it is going to succeed.
Old cache was invalidated since it has been a while, so the build is starting fresh.
See progress of it at https://github.com/moddevices/mod-live-usb/actions/runs/1639634177
(that is me trying to automate the ISO creation yes. it was working 4 months ago…)
@falkTX thanks for that we will see what happens.
Fast response, programmers are crazy…
I know it, I’m an IT guy myself…
Have a nice start into the new year you all!
@falkTX unfortunately the build did not complete. I cannot help with this at all. I could only use the iso file.
I have no expirience with building stuff on github or whatsoever. so maybe you could look into it, but please dont waste your time if you can forsee that the issue takes some time.
to bridge the time until my dwarf arrives, I wanted to start playing around with the sandbox. Seems to be always full unfortunately.
Is there a kind of timeout implemented to prevent blockage? Is it really always busy or maybe an error on the page?
I will now try out the live image as alternative, but a reliable online demo would be a great tool for newbies or people intersting in purchasing a mod unit. So if you could please check or update us on the status?!
