I was unsure what version I was on and just tried to manually update to 1.5.0.498 which did not work because the device kept hanging in the “checking file” for >30min and so I guessed the URL for the new version, downloaded that and it installed like a charm. Excellent! Footswitch firmware was updated too, without any glitch.
Update from 503->505 succeeded (FF55.0.2/Linux).
Regards, Holger
Pushed build 507, now with mod-sdk back again.
For those that didn’t update to build 505 before, please update manually using this file:
http://download.moddevices.com/releases/testing/modduo-v1.5.0.507.tar
For those on build 505, please verify if the update via web interface works, thank you!
hmm something was not right in build 505, I think it didn’t had the update-over-100mb fix.
I pushed updated 508 just now, so you can help testing this by manually updating to 507 and then to 508 via web interface.
Again, the link is http://download.moddevices.com/releases/testing/modduo-v1.5.0.507.tar
Manually updated to 507, update via GUI to 508 succeeded
manual 507
GUI 508
success
- manual update to 507 went well
- “System is up-to-date”… in the GUI
- reboot via modduo.local/settings
- system hangs on boot
- power off + reboot --> GUI says system is up-to-date
- reboot via modduo.local/settings --> system hangs again
- power off + reboot --> GUI says system is up-to-date
- guessing that something is wrong with the network --> try to download a new pedalboard --> pedalboards.moddevices.com says --> "Victory! … " but the pedalboard gets never installed.
In summary: neither soft reboot nor system upgrade via GUI work for me. Desktop OS is a mostly unmodified Opensuse Leap 42.3.
Use the instructions at the top of this page to force a software reinstall:
http://wiki.moddevices.com/wiki/Troubleshooting_Reinstall#MOD_does_not_boot.2C_or_boots_into_recovery_mode_automatically
On a scale of 1 to 10, how necessary is that forced reinstall, @falkTX? Just asking, because it actually works fine and the settings page shows:
Build Date: 2017 Aug 28 11:19:28
OS Version: 1.5.0.507
which looks fine to me.
“if it works, don’t fix it”.
but not being able to see an update seems weird. also my reboot via web interface works fine.
Anyway, build 509 is here.
- proper transport icon
- add option to backup&restore plugins and device settings
For those on a build before 507 the auto-update won’t work for you. But you can manually download the update here
http://download.moddevices.com/releases/testing/modduo-v1.5.0.509.tar
509 update succeeded
The settings page could use an overflow adjustment, content gets clipped at the bottom:
I’ve tried loading a few different pedalboards from the public site and am getting an error each time:
Apparently I did not look closely enough yesterday but through repetition we learn: @unbracketed’s error looks exactly like the one I get on build 507.
build 510 is here:
- fix loading remote pedalboards from http://pedalboard.moddevices.com/
- fix vertical overflow of settings page
For those on a build before 507 the auto-update won’t work for you. But you can manually download the update file here
http://download.moddevices.com/releases/testing/modduo-v1.5.0.510.tar
build 513 is here:
- Initial support for touch events in modgui knobs
- Fix screenshot generation in mod-sdk
For those on a build before 507 the auto-update won’t work for you. But you can manually download the update file here
http://download.moddevices.com/releases/testing/modduo-v1.5.0.513.tar
Build 510 installed fine on my Duo but took longer than usual and the display went darker in the process and was written “updating controllers” despite not Control chain device being connected. Downloading pedalboards works again (yeah!) but the GUI update still does not.
That’s expected due to the larger image size.
That has always happened, in all updates. It actually says “updating controller”, which refers to the micro-controller that manages the knobs, footswitches and displays.
Does the download fail, or you don’t get a notification of an update available?
508 -> 513 via GUI successful here!
I dont get the update notification. When I click on the icon in the lower right corner, it says “system is up-to-date”. How long does it take for the update process check for a new version?
perhaps your mod Id was removed from “group1” by mistake.
PM me your full mod serial id (near the barcode on the bottom of the mod duo)
