Oh sorry, that was just added in 1.12 which is supposed to release this week.
@falkTX a little help here?
Well let’s see if we can get 1.12-RC1 out today.
We just found a regression that needs fixing, everything else looks good
@DOUBLE if you want, I can send you the most recent 1.12 manual update and run you through how to install it? I hope this will solve it.
Sorry for the complication. In most cases, devices work on Windows out of the box, but occasionally there are issues, unfortunately, that seems to be the case for you. But I’m confident we can get it working for you
that would be great thank you so much !!!:))))
Hi guys, I got a mod duo x today and eventually came here as I experienced almost a same issue.
My window recognizes it as just USB Serial Device, and even after I followed all the instructions of windows driver troubleshooting in wiki (downloaded a file), nothing changes the fact I can’t use GUI web interface although it can recognize the installed driver that I updated. It says it took too long and got never connected even once.
One weird thing is I tried 3 laptops which has Windows, and one iPad. Failed all in 3 laptops, but weirdly, I could open GUI web in Ipad using USB hub and had no issues there.
Could this be an issue with the device itself, or is there something wrong in my Windows driver / settings ?
Thank you.
On a Duo X with 1.12 installed, there are some settings on the device itself regarding USB mode.
With an updated Windows 10 and 11, you can switch the device USB mode to be “Net + MIDI (Windows)” which is known to work better than the default network only mode.
The side effect is that in this mode macOS (and iOS on iPad) won’t be able to see the network connection.
Thanks for the reply!
I actually tried switching to ‘Net+MIDI (Windows)’, but when I use this mode, my Windows can’t recognize mod duo x at all when I plugged the usb port.
Could update status of my Windows 10 (Haven’t updated for a while) be a reason Windows can’t recognize normally?
(It’s a shame I spent 5 hours trying to fix it but haven’t seen the pedalboard in GUI web in Windows yet…Really wanna see it ahah)
yes, early windows 10 builds still did not support composite usb devices, which is what the net + midi mode uses.
the other, normal mode is supposed to work though, with only perhaps needing the steps in Troubleshooting Windows Connection - MOD Wiki
Thank you for your reply! I solved the problem by updating Windows 10. After doing so, now I can use default usb mode, which is great. Still, It was kinda strange that normal usb mode didn’t work with my previous Windows 10 20H2 ver. I hope other people who have similar problem as I did can solve the problem after seeing my comments…!
at this point Windows updates fixing some stuff and breaking another is kinda expected, already became a meme of its own.
it is like Schrodinger updates, you dont know if things will work or not until you actually update
