I have been messing around with a pedalboard that has 3 or 4 Bolly Delays set to different rates to take a stab at replicating an Echorec. It’s not polished, so you have to manually set each of the modes, but it does do a “rhythmic” echo. Not exactly an Echorec, but kind of interesting.
I’m getting spikes in my CPU usage when using the Gaffa. With any other delay I’m running around 55%, but with the Gaffa I’m getting xruns here and there. Any ideas?
@MODPOCALYPSE which MOD OS version are you running? The latest?
Are you also running the latest version of the Gaffa?
Yep, updated everything recently!
What else is in your pedalboard? You can privately publish your pedalboard and link it here, if you like. Also, I assume you’re using a Dwarf? I have noticed that the Gaffa is a bit “heavier” than some other delays, but I haven’t seen it cause XRuns when the rest of the board is ~50%.
I’ll post the board if it keeps happening. I’ve noticed it on a couple of different boards I’ve made.
The activity is more of a very quick spike in CPU. Like the meter says “60%” but it sometimes goes red, and the xruns pile up.
Just FYI I’ve thought about how to replicate the Echorec too, if you could find a flowchart of how it works, I may take a stab at it.
by any chance are you using some beta plugins? It sounds a bit like something is conflicting in your pedalboard
Yes, maybe that was it… using the Collusion drive too.
I’ve been cheating on the Gaffa with other delays, so unfortunately I haven’t done much testing of this issue lately.
