Thanks a lot! Snapshot navigation looks super fast. Does the speed will be the same no matter how many plugins are loaded into a pedalboard? I mean, if I load 5 different amps into a pedalboard and I use 5 snapshot to activate each of them, snapshot navigation speed would be significantly affected?
only the parameters that need change are actually changed, so “speed” depends on the amount of changes you have from one snapshot to another.
unless the system is under very heavy load, it shouldnt practically make much of a difference.
the biggest “slow down” so to speak will be if you involve file changing. those typically load in the background and activate when ready (depending on the plugin in question, but all published plugins so far that use files behave this way)
great demo! keep up the good work
Navigation looks fantastic. Cannot wait to start tinkering.
I’m new to the Dwarf, I only found out about it a week or so ago and put in my order a few days ago. Really exciting to see the unit in action and the production facilities look good. Like many others here I’m getting itchy fingers, but I’m spending my time trying to learn the programming of LV2 pedals (and hoping that I can mostly just copy and paste code that I need )
Thanks a lot for the nice words and welcome to the MOD family
Please share with us any doubts and of course the music that you do as soon as you have your MOD Dwarf
I am moving in 6 weeks & want to be sure my dwarf doesn’t go to the wrong place. Wondering if I should change my address or if my unit should be delivered by then?
We are so many thinking to move during this summer.
If the numbers on Kickstarter are Ok, I am the last contributor (just before 800) so what could I expect from actual rules of delivery imposed by ‘the company’ … wait again until september seems long for me, even longer if I see people buying it directly and announcing they receive it before me.
Yes more expensive buy but what kind of message is it : money before creativity support spirit and risk assuming ???
I am certainly in a bad mood this morning
Hmmm - my number is 835 on Kickstarter so
I’m sure you weren’t the last contributor! If that gives you any hope!!
Because of Brexit I will also pay an added payment (even though I’ve already paid the pledge in full).
But… I see the reason for it as supply / cash flow problems so I understand. They kept us more updated than any other Kickstarter I’ve been involved in, plus they have a good track record. But yes, frustrating.
What is your pledge type and which platform?
The rules were not imposed by anyone, and certainly not for the company.
Once again you are forgetting a few details regarding the delivery process and the pledges. The number of contribution is not related with the delivery schedule. Before that comes the type of pledge. You could even be the contributor number 1 and contribute for a early bird device, that would put all beta and super early bird (at least those from top of my head) before you.
The same could happen the other way around, you could be the last contributor and pledge for a beta unit (if those were still available). That would put you on the top of the list.
Thanks for the nice words and understanding.
As I answered to @CSurieux, you are having a misunderstanding by considering your contribution number the order of deliver. That is wrong because you forget the type of pledge factor.
Sorry we are certainly bad guys even with our best will, may be also the cause of climat change and disappearance of fauna ?
I still hope.
Early bird kickstarter if I’m not mistaken
Im indegogo what ever that means ; )
Maybe we should change this thread to production and delivery only and give us a page to vent separately.
I understand both sides to the frustrations and appreciate its human nature to feel disappointed or upset; as sone of my posts have shown (sorry)
it would be good though if we could have a bit of an update to where we all stand in the que for delivery rather than a video about snapshots which I feel could have been a separate thread on check the dwarf out.
Just my thoughts this morning and always nothing personal
Hi,
I believe it’d be good if a Mod person takes 20mn each week to summarize solid points in a clear, honest post.
At the moment, have the beta units all been shipped ? Couldn’t find it anywhere
Are the tests and feedback on the beta unit good enough to confirm production shipping ? Assuming yes, just assuming.
There is a batch of 300 where all parts are apparently available, announced to ship 17-22 may. Do you confirm ?
I can read very little feedback on the Dwarf anywhere (beta users or pro users), while the product has been born several weeks now. Is everything okay ?
Sorry if this sounds a little dry.
Hi Jon, I too am concerned about an international move in early July… I’ve already started to sell off some of the less essential pedals on my board in anticipation of this. I also understand the limitations you’re working under (though I don’t really get the rationale for fulfilling retail orders before crowdfunding pledges-- if it’s a cash flow issue I’m surprised there aren’t low interest gov’t loans to help, but what do I know, maybe you’ve exhausted those options). I just checked to see what pledge type I made, and all I can see is: MOD Dwarf - Kickstarter Edition. So I assume this wasn’t an early bird pledge, and that I’m number 330 in the regular kickstart queue. I hope this still means I can expect my Dwarf before July 9, do you have any sense if this is the case? I’m sorry you have to answer these questions on an individual basis, hopefully you’ll get a better sense of the production/shipping timeline soon and can give batch estimates, etc. Anyway, sorry for the general sense of frustration, I know you guys are excited about your product and feel it too. Thanks.
Hi,
Regarding the “relocation issue”, why simply not sending your new address and relocation date, so that the MOD team updates the delivery address, according to the shipping date?
I will just give a personal anecdote here to hopefully give some perspective for those of you that are worried about the shipping priorities
As the Mechanical Engineer and Product designer of the Dwarf, I am yet to have a Dwarf of my own and I will likely not have one for some months to come. This is because we are prioritising units to go to backers as soon as they are ready
I must agree that the updates are quite confusing. Before christmas we had lots of pics of shiny parts waiting to go, videos of assembly taking less than 5 mins. Then folow that with a machine plating 300 at a time yet not many people seem to be posting ‘hey look at my dwarf etc’
Sonetimes no news is not good news. I find with my job informative and honesty works best. If Mod told me Im not getting my Dwarf til Christmas thats fine. To show me 300 at a time just gets our hopes up, leading to frustration when nothing is mentioned about delivery etc
I just hope this isnt going down the expression pedal rabbit hole.
And to say you havent got yours doesnt always help. Answering a negative with your own negative does not put the question to bed.
We all appreciate Covid and brexit (im a Uk paramedic) but keep your backers sweet and they will support you for a long time. The frequency of frustration seems to be increasing on the forum.
Multiple forum members have now requested similar information multiple times. I get my hopes up everytime I see a dwarf update post but then realise its not about the dwarf but about our frustrations.
I hope we can move forward together - ask the forum what they want from you if needed and Im sure they will happily answer the call.
Dont take frustration to be anything other than fatigue being excited for so long about your product. Just imagine waiting all year for 25th december then being told the week before its moved to february for the early backers and you have to wait further .
As always my thoughts and feelings only and not personal to either mod or members
Stil looking forward to the little fella - and Christmas ; )
