Some people have busy lives and don’t have time to constantly browse discussions looking for news on the production and delivery of their new devices so please cut them some slack.

with all due respect, if someone has time to complain they also have time to read.

one being too busy often doesnt notice time passing.

not related to MOD in specific, just in general.
and not that we should never complain, of course.

WE WANT OUR DWARVES! WE WANT THEM NOW!

But I’ll wait for as long as it takes, which will have to be a couple months longer …

Be prepared for more fun and games. Omicron is running wild, infecting at a much faster rate that delta. I wish that the expression pedal and the dwarf were all that I had to worry about in this life. And if you can’t respect that, then by all means get out there and put your own life on the line.

The odds may be fairly small, but the stakes are very high.

:disappointed: I’m really sorry that it didn’t work. Hopefully February it’s possible, but maybe just ping us by the middle/end of January and we will be able to give you a little bit more accurate feedback about that.

I’ve noticed a few people are stressing about getting their dwarf soon. I too had hoped to get mine by Christmas. A delayed present to myself seemed like a perfect gift but it was not to be.

I just wanted to add a bit of positivity by saying thank you to the mod team. I’ve been lurking here checking the forum a few times a week for a few months now and every time I see friendly and helpful feedback from you. Your patience with the endless stream of requests for more updates does not go unnoticed.

I cannot imagine how frustrating and stressful it must be to face delay after delay in production with situations that are completely out of your control. On top of that you have the constant anticipation of excited, and often frustrated, backers badgering you for the slightest hint of news that their dwarf might magically be the next one shipped.

I think (hope) that there are a lot of others who, like me, really appreciate the work that you are all putting in to dealing with the ever changing problems. I just hope that you realise that, despite being desperately excited to get our hands on our new toys, we are also (often silently) supportive of your commitment to the project and the community.

I can’t wait to mess around with the dwarf when it finally gets to me. I’m sure I’ll find no end of ways to frustrate my neighbours with new and obnoxious sounds to experiment with. Until then I shall remain happily patient.

Thank you, rfoude, you said it better than I could. Exactly my sentiments.

Exactly,
Of all people, the MOD people have this thing on their mind the most!
A lot of you have earned some well deserved time to compress, to celebrate with family, to reset their brain and have a few nights of good sleep!
(sounds like a good Christmas gift if somebody could arrange all THAT :D)

I got my device. Thank You all Mod crew, and @jon for Your patience, and sorry that I was harsh for You sometimes. It’s my first guitar efect, and I didn’t want to go for other devices during this time.

Thank you guys for the nice words and support  It also doesn’t pass unnoticed on our side.
After all we truly believe that we have a great community overall and the patience that all of you guys have been having (even if sometimes some of you may loose it a bit more or less) is extremely appreciated on our side. As you know, we totally couldn’t make it without you.

Thank you for taking the time to share this love

@wiazek no worries, personally I totally understand and respect you. Everyone has always their reason to react in a certain way and I’m no one to judge that!
I’m really happy that you finally got your device  Please share some videos and feedback with us. Your feedback will be especially appreciated since it’s your first device of this kind. With your help the MOD Dwarf will become even better

Thanks for the kind words guys. It is nice to see the appreciation that is often silent. I just want to say that no one wants the Dwarfs to be in your hands more than we do and especially @jon !

Personally, it brings me a lot of joy every time we see one of you guys unboxing your devices for the first time. That’s why we do it!

Are we receiving any word from UPS up front about the shipment or a tracking code?
Still just worried I’ll miss the shipment as I have some bad experiences with UPS. Indiegogo #329

Anyways, as I wrote higher up it’s not like I’m busy with gigs so from that point of view I can wait,
but I’m hopefull as there have been posts about Tier 2 devices arriving.

Merry x-mas and happy holidays everyone.

Supposedly you do. Don’t worry much about that. I can tell you that we still didn’t reach your fulfillment in our list and, in case that anything bad happens with the UPS shipment we take care of that. As an Indiegogo backer, we will also input your tracking number in the platform after shipping - quite honest here, I’m the one doing this, but in a lot of cases I’m doing it way too late, so backers have already received the device for a while when I manage to do it. But anyway, if you receive a tracking number and something feels weird, feel free to reach out.

Absolutely not true. Usually “reading” means scouring many forum threads, and sometimes multiple forums. Don’t disregard someone who asks a question, just because you have heard that question before.

I agree with the sentiment, but in this specific topic I do not think it applies, at all.

The important stuff is always mentioned at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/modduo/mod-dwarf/posts
Reading that is enough to keep you up to date on what is going on.

I know the team is preparing another update post, to go out in 1-2 just before the holidays.

We don’t expect future users that did not receive their dwarf yet to frequently visit to forum just to check for news. Sometimes news are a bit slow, because we also do not know and are waiting to receive more information from others. From what I understood the team tries to make such update posts at least 1 time per month.

I still disagree. Reading the kickstarter post is not enough. Many others agree with me.

I totally understand the global situation and am ok waiting, but I myself have asked for some simple updates that were not actually on posted anywhere, and I also received some crappy “just read and stfu” responses. This does nothing to support MOD, nothing to answer the question, and only serves to show the responder as a jerk. Thankfully I had a few exchanges with MOD employs, all of whom were wonderful, and I was able to also offer some supporting feedback to them.

I’m in support of MOD, but I do feel more regular feedback would have been better, even if it was simply, “everything is still on fire, waiting game still happening, hang in there”. Hearing that frequently is comforting. Also, information has been conflicting. For example, a couple months ago we heard “almost half of all Tier 2 units have been shipped”. Elsewhere, just this month, it says “about 30%”. One forum member on Facebook was posting just this week that “Tier 2 is on track and almost wrapped up”, which is obviously also not true.

Hearing “we already told you so stop being pesky” is not in any way beneficial to anyone, especially when it comes from other members of the community, who actually don’t know any more than the rest of us. We don’t need any MOD apologists on the forum, nor any defenders. Nor do we need anyone saying “reading that is enough to keep you up to date”. If people ask questions it is obviously NOT enough, and YOU are not in any way going to make decisions about how other people think and feel. So stow that bs right now. We are simply looking for info, not attacking, not vilifying.

I just want to chime in here before you go too deep into labeling Falk as different things. Just an FYI that Falk is the lead software developer at MOD, the maintainer of not only MOD OS but also Jack Audio. He has contributed more to this forum and MOD than almost anyone else so I would ask to cut him some slack.

About the updates, I understand that people want more information and that’s fair. To be honest I think we have spoiled you guys with information and that has led to increased expectations. There are not many other companies that are as transparent as we are about production and development. We’re not withholding any information. We give it to you as it develops. So if there is no update then likely the situation hasn’t changed

I don’t understand, two posts you are now “we”. You didn’t bought any thing but support for a initiative that still looks pretty good so far. So support it, talk about it, watch videos, promote it, develop for it, you are not a costumer, you are part of the team. Best.

Quite honestly and with all the respect the decision is really simple and I guess that we are totally ok putting it on the backers side - as I already said before here, but I’m ok doing it again.

  1. Either we give personalised updates and frequent even when not really much changed or is already certain
  2. or either we give less and save more time to fix the problems in production and supply chain and work on development of the features/bug fixes that will make the device better.

On this scheme, choosing the option 1) quite frankly will most likely end up giving reason to the most pessimist that say that they don’t expect the device to arrive before summer (and this expecting that no more problems appear). Option 2) will give a bit more work for the backers to read all the updates with careful and attention, but will allow us to move a tiny bit faster.

Also for your info, as @falkTX said, the updates on Kickstarter and Indiegogo are ALWAYS the most accurate ones and that’s another reason why we take longer to publish them. Most of the times that I or someone from the team answers here to more specific questions there’s ALWAYS a bigger degree of uncertainty and it’s pretty much what we have been listening and talking in the “back stage”.

Some time ago, upon this type of requests we decided to publish an update each second week. In practice that turned out completely impossible. It would take us so much time to basically give no news and in the end - because quite some backers don’t read any update - we would get exactly the same questions that are answered in the update. I spend a lot of my time doing exactly that, answering questions that we already answered before. That’s exactly why we take the root of “as we wrote in X update”.

This is indeed a great example. Because it is actually true and shows exactly what I wrote before. What happens is that we had indeed around 30% of backers fulfilled and were receiving quite some devices from the factory. Until new problems with the supply chain followed immediately by a new wave of covid cases here in Germany - that basically stopped our production for pretty much a month - arrived. What we manage to do during this couple of months as you wrote was to ship about 10 devices because we couldn’t do more.

Yes. Also true. Problems with the factory seemed to be solved and they are pumping devices. Just this morning I myself did the QC tests for about 25 devices that arrived already this week - ALL crowdfunding.

I’m not exactly sure about who are you talking to here since who has been writing things like that is me, @falkTX and @James. All from the MOD team.
Anyway, this forum is not a place for any sort of censorship. Forum members are fine to post or answer whatever they think fits and whatever is their opinion - as you are doing regarding our updates. The MOD platform and community breeds exactly that, the feedback of users and members. If members feel like posting some sort of support, wishes (for example for the festivities), or helping each other all of that is more than welcome. We are an open community in all senses.
