Hi! Just upgraded Cardinal to 22.09. But suddenly I cannot use it with my DuoX. Will you update the plugins soon? Or Should I downgrade?
Hi - really struggling to get this to work, have installed Cardinal desktop and latest version of the Cardinal plugin on MOD DUO X but cannot send anything from the desktop app. Some questions:
-
Which desktop version of Cardinal should I be using?
-
Do I need anything other that the desktop app and MOD DUO (and browser) to get this to work?
-
Is it possible to create setups in the Cardinal app and then export as plugins to be loaded into the Constructor?
-
Which browser is best?
Really keen to get this working but instructions are very vague to those of us who are not devs - which makes this feature of the MOD DUO X platform feel quite inaccessible
Hi there.
the main and big Cardinal variant is too weird to set up right, I kinda gave up on it for now.
try to stick with the āminiā variant, which does not need any external tools to be running on the desktop side, the full GUI is exposed through the browser directly.
Great - thanks!
Looks like it is missing modules but guess these need to be added at some point later?
if there is a good reason to add them, maybeā¦ depends if they are compatible with the remote setup in place for the mini variant.
Ok - is that something I can do myself using the app?
no, the list of modules on the mini variant is hardcoded. it is very intentionally kept small.
Ah cool - makes sense. Excellent work on this so far though man, loving it.
Been building some stuff with it
I kinda gave up hoping theyād expand any of the unique stuffā¦
All focused on guitar stuff
Donāt give up ā¦ contribute!
Personally Iām also way more interested in synth and midi stuff, but we need to see a stable company before we can expect big development investment into niche/fringe areas.
I am looking at adding some more interesting modules from main Cardinal into CardinalMini, since there is definitely some functionality still missing, like slew limiters, comparators and logic modules. What is really needed is more input on what is missing so there can be some focus put there.
Of course the goal with CardinalMini is to really make it as small as possible with only the most useful (and polyphonic!) modules added to it. The biggest limitation ultimately is your own creativity.
More modules would be awesome - Iād code if I could but not in my wheelhouse. Although I promise to build interesting stuff with the new features added
It would be great to see Parasites Clouds in the MOD platform I think, either via Cardinal or directly.
Guitarists would benefit from that as much as synth players and producers.
There is. Itās there under the name Neil
and brand Parable Instruments
.
I mean itās already added to Cardinal, but the main Cardinal is generally too heavy for MOD.
There was an idea to expose individual modules as LV2 plugins once, but this will obviously require extra development effort.
Shame - could be a great addition
It is actually there in the main Cardinal! You just donāt have a nice web UI where you can patch in.
You have to create the patch on the desktop Cardinal and then push it to the device.
I now have a nice infinite decay reverb insanity going on
Using about 33% of my DuoX cpu.
Iāve tried that but never seems to work.
Can you let me know which version of Cardinal, which MOD plug in you used you used and the exact steps you took?
For instance - Iām using the latest version and when trying āConnect to Remoteā nothing is happening, even tried the MOD URL in the pop up
Would really appreciate any help you can offer!
The installed version on my DuoX is 23.7-20
(using the FX version atm) and the one on my desktop is 23.10
.
did we maybe break this by mistake on the mod builds for 23.10? I have not tested this yet
