Assign a parameter to the Dwarf AND midi

Thanks to @AndyCap and @AndreaDelSignore, the Starless unofficial Dwarf image the midi controllers can now “know” you move a parameter on the Dwarf so it can change the state of its switch if you change it in the Dwarf : this is amazing !

But the other way is currently not possible.

I use a midi controller (Morninstar MC6pro) to engage/disengage multiple plug-ins at once, and use the Dwarf’s switches to engage/disengage individual plug-ins. But to make a plugin be engage/disengage with midi AND a Dwarf’s switch, i use a CV button (here a Gossiper) → trigger the infamous mindi - MOD Audio → send to the virtual loopback… :

If I use the midi controller to activate the WOW delay send shown here and other plugins, the Dwarf’s switch would change it’s state to ON.

If it could be possible to simply modify a parameter with the device AND midi :

  • it would be synced between my controller and the Dwarf
  • it could simplify a lot my pedalboard and a few CPU usage (about 83% → 72%) :

It’s really too bad since :

  • we can control any parameter with the webUI AND any Dwarf’s switch (the state of the parameter is updated on the Dwarf and on the webUI
  • all my analog/midi pedals are listening to midi AND can be also engaged/disengaged on themself)

It’s coming…

There will be an update at some time “soonish” where any control can be mapped to multiple controllers (so HMI/CC/CV/MIDI/Web interface) all at the same time, changing one controller will keep the other controllers in step (apart from CV, so changing CV will keep the others in step, but keeping the CV modules in step in the GUI will not happen), they will all still work together but you won’t see any CV modules knobs changing.
