I was using the Audio Capture plugin on the MDX to capture audio from the Elektron Analog Rytm, and everything worked fine for a while. However, something seems to have gone wrong, and the USB-A port stopped working. The issue affects not only audio but also MIDI over USB.
I also tried backing up to a flash drive but got a “No pendrive found” message. Additionally, I performed a factory restore, but that didn’t help either.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong?*
I plugged the audio interface into the port, and its LEDs lit up, so the port is still supplying power. However, there’s still no response from the device.
The Analog Rytm has a USB MIDI mode (meaning it can act as a MIDI controller), but even that doesn’t work
Oh! I’m honest with you, I was not even familiar with this plugin.
Anyway, it is in beta stage, which means that it was not heavily tested and some things may not work as expected.
I have a question for you that may not be the source of the problem (but regardless, we will need to troubleshoot a bit): are the devices that you are connecting power to with an extra power supply or simply USB powered?
On a quick attempt to solve the issue, I would suggest you to suggest you to backup the device and make a factory reset. Let me know if that works.
The Analog Rytm I connected, of course, is powered by an external supply. Besides that, I also connected an iRig Stream audio interface, which is USB-powered. I can’t say exactly when the port stopped working, but I noticed the issue when connecting the Analog Rytm.
However, when I now connect the iRig interface, its LED lights up, meaning USB power is still being supplied. The Duo X just doesn’t react—no MIDI over USB, and I can’t connect a flash drive to save my data. As mentioned earlier, I performed a factory reset, but that didn’t solve the problem.
hmm it really seems that the port somehow got damaged.
I would suggest that you open the device and check if there is anything on the board that appears burned or damaged around the USB port.
Do you have enough DIY skills to perform that?
