I put this table into the wiki quite some time ago - is it still useful? It would be interesting if there is a device in the table, that is NOT compatible. https://wiki.mod.audio/wiki/Bluetooth
Yes was very useful! I bought that specific adapter because it was on the list. I did get it to work but just need to plug it in after the dwarf has booted up.
Hah! I’m so glad you posted this – I was pulling my hair out (not wise at my age) trying to figure out how to get my bluetooth status past “Starting…” and it turns out I just had to unplug it and plug it back in! Then I had to exit the setup menu for it to pop right up in my nearby devices! Thanks!
I spoke too soon… my bluetooth status on the mod dwarf says “DISCONNECTED” but the bluetooth device in my system settings (Mac OS 15.3.1) says “Connected”… and http://moddwarf.local/ just hangs. Any clue how I can debug this?
ANOTHER EDIT: I just noticed that this tp-link ub500 is windows only… I’m guessing that’s why it’s acting weird? @evol were you able to get it to work at all?
I can answer you why it doesn’t work on MacOS.
Some MacOS updates ago, Apple broke this. I found it out before anyone here or in support had mentioned it. I did quite a lot of research and found out people complaining about that in Apple forums and Apple assuming the issue (it was not directly referring to a MOD device, but other devices that use similar systems). It happens that Apple never really fixed this. If you try on an iPhone or iPad, I’m pretty sure it will work (so it did the last time I tried it), but MacOS has a bug on this that went through already 2 or 3 major updates…if I don’t mistake this happened in a MacOS update on late 2022.
Yes. Unless you downgrade your MacOS I doubt it work (until Apple finally fixes it).
A little disclaimer: I use an old MacBook from 2016, and I can no longer run the most recent MacOS updates, so I don’t know if things will eventually get fixed.
