well, i suppose i shouldn’t, but it turns out i can! 
…just knocked mine off the bench. it landed, face-down on the floor, while still powered up. everything’s fine! well, except one knob fell off… easy enough to re-fasten it with its set screw, of course. i discovered, along the way, that all three of the knob set screws were a bit loose.
word to the wise, after all of this: tighten your set screws, y’all! 
…and drop your Dwarves on the floor, if you want to be entertained by their indestructible-ness! or, maybe not, if you’re risk-averse!..
