Sequencing/Drum Machine advice

Hi all, looking for advice as I feel like I’m missing something… I’ve been attempting to sequence some drum beats on the fly and having trouble figuring out the assignments with my devices and the workflow of how to go about it.

I’ve been using both pages of pads on the Minilab 3 to give me 16 steps to trigger, but populating those steps with different drum voices on the fly is what I’d like to be able to do. I could assign various knobs to the “pitch” parameter dials on the DM-Seq plugin, maybe limit their range in the advanced tab, and use those to select sounds, but I don’t exactly have 16 free knobs with all the other stuff going on on my pedalboard. I’ve also been messing with creating some presets on the stock sequencers, but am finding those pretty limited, and with one output it’s hard to put a bunch of midi plugins after to give me options to play with.

I’m not exactly sure what would be ideal, but a more traditional “drum-machine” workflow seems more straightforward, where I select the voice in a menu, then either activate with an assigned sequence pad (out of the 16) or have an assigned trigger to do it live. Any thoughts about how I might set this up with existing plugins? I’m mostly on a production MOD Duo X.

Hello @oeSmash,

I’m not sure if I fully understand what you want to achieve (maybe a video or something even from other device could help here).

Do you mean that you want to be able to, for example, on the same pad play a Kick and a snare sound by changing the voice that it triggers?

Wouldn’t Pedalboard Snapshots or plugin presets (that you can then assign to select somewhere) not help you on this?
