Porting Plugins to MOD devices

Hi everyone,

I came across this open-source plugin and was wondering if anyone could port it to MOD devices.

October Production Co. on GitHub

I’ve contacted the developer, who mentioned that MOD has some restrictions, including third-party libraries, a limit of around 1,000 lines of code and no custom graphics.

@gianfranco is that correct? And would it be possible to port this plugin to MOD?

hi @danimourinho

Nope. That ain’t correct.

Some of these limitations, like the 1000 lines, apply only to the simplified method of the cookbook, which @Whythisreason has already tackled with his playbook.

The rest is to be seen depending on the libraries, but not true as a general rule .

Regarding the plugin itself, it has a couple of issues and a direct port is not a good or even feasible option.

Is there any particular feature of the plugin that interests you? Or are you looking for a ready-made solution like that?

I like the idea of having compression on the low end and distortion on the high end, similar to how the Parallax plugin works and the recent Entropia plugin for the Anagram. I think this works really well for bass, keeping the low end under control while adding distortion to the highs.I’ve tried to get a similar result using the current MOD plugins, but I haven’t managed to get the sound I want without overloading the CPU.

@danimourinho ymmv but you can point Claude at MOD-plugin-playbook/AGENTS.md at main · Kiwooky/MOD-plugin-playbook · GitHub

Then point it at your github and ask to create the MOD versions. I haven’t dealt with the NAM stuff yet, so there might be some unknowns. No issue creating GUI and there is work arounds for file size baked in.
