Following up on this old post Plugin lookup in local pedalboards, I put together a Python script that scans all the plugins installed on the device and finds which pedalboards are using a specific plugin. I tested only of Dwarf.
pedalboard_finder.py (20,7 KB)
It runs quite slowly (becasue i wanted to retrieve the screenshots), so I can see why integrating it directly into the firmware might be counterproductive but, as a standalone utility, you might find it handy (I surely do).
I also wanted to share it for another reason: one feature I’ve always wanted is the ability to “copy and paste” sections of a pedalboard, or use presets/templates. Thanks to a former bug in the first version of the script, I realized that it’s actually possible to call an existing pedalboard and nest it inside another. For instance, if you build a guitar pedalboard and realize you have enough CPU headroom left, you could pull in a saved vocal signal chain template directly into it.
It might run into conflicts, but it could serve as a proof of concept (POC) for the developers (@AndreaDelSignore & Co) working on future firmware releases.
Check twice while saving your pedalboards, treat this as very experimental tool.
The rather rough video below shows what I’ve put together: you’ll see the GUI, the options to search by name or categories, the count of pedalboards using the specific plugin. In the right frame, the pedalboards found and the options to load a pedalboard in the usual way, or to add it in the acutal opened one.

Hope this will be useful, and that someday we can have in Starless or in the official MOD firmware the possibility to import pedalboards in a robust way.
