Hello guys
I´ve updated the OverJay plugin to the newest version and it seems that something is wrong with the level and drive.
It´s just very loud and I don´t recollect it beeing so loud.
Is it possible that something got broke on the new version?
I went from version 1.0-7 to 1.0-8
Thanks
How you guys are doing?
Should I move this post to the “bug-report” category?
Cheers
Hi,
Just to confirm I noticed the same behavior after the upgrade.
Thanks
I checked if there was some changes made to Overjay by accident, and while we did push an update (at the same time as updating a couple of other plugins) I do not see anything that changed in Overjay specifically.
A lot of these amp plugins are louder than they ought to be, but the gain levels have not changed.
I pushed yet another update just now to make sure we are not in some odd state in between some partial updates, so please update and try again. But if it still sounds “tool loud” it is likely how it was from the beginning.
To reduce biases it is probably better to try some published/shared pedalboards and check if they sound wrong.
Hi,
thanks for the update: not sure if is the placebo effect, but it seems better now.
Thanks
Hi All,
sorry for the entropy, but I managed to perform a test and I have to confirm that the updated version of the plugin is way louder than the previous version.
The first screenshot runs version 1.0-7, while the second was taken with the latest version: same guitar settings, same plugin settings (default), same power chord.
Thanks
Thanks @falkTX
But I can´t hear any changes from version 1.0-8 to 1.0-10.
I’ve did a test with both versions using a pink noise generator at -18db and hera are the results. ![]()
sadly such bump in volume is not unusual from some of the plugins coming from this collection.
when we ported these to the darkglass anagram marketplace we ended up using -45dB attenuation for the “lead trilogy” and -35dB for the “plexi breed”. I mean attenuation in order to achieve unity-gain on default values, because some of these are really loud yes.
Can I downgrade to an earlier version of this plugin to perform other tests?
I´m unable to use pedalboards with the over jay due to this condition and I’m confident that this was not an issue before.
I wii try to reach other user to check if they have earlier versions to test also.
Cheers
Yes, the problem also affects those two plugins.
It would be better if you push the older version in the store: the new levels are way too loud and mitigate the issue by adding another plugin (a volume maybe) is not easy on already CPU heavy pedalboards.
Thanks
well that is the thing though, I tested/compared the levels with those plugins compared to a dwarf build before any other changes. From what I can tell/test, the plugins were always this loud.
I can try to build some really old versions, but don’t think it will make a difference…
Mmmhh, that’s really weird, because we did an A/B test with previous versions and the old plugins are definetly quieter.
The version I run, that didn’t face the issue, are:
- overjay: 1.0-7
- lead trilogy: 1.0-13
- plexi breed: 1.0-14
Hope this helps! ![]()
Thanks
I can confirm the issue with te Plexi Breed plugin, I did a test with my 2 Mod units, one with V 1.0 -14 and the other with V 1.0 -17 . Huge level jump…scary for our ears.
They should all be ok now. @rogeriocouto @zwabo @Abotte
Really sorry for the hiccup.
On the bright side, the levels are all managed in a more robust manner in the entire neural catalog.
Thank you very much for the quick fix.
Thanks @gianfranco and @falkTX for the support.
