New EarSaver automute plugin - .mk in mod-plugin-builder

Hi, I’m working through the process of trying to include a plugin in mod-plugin-builder. I’ve submitted a pull request for the .mk file (which might need tweaking?). Am I on the right track?

Here’s the link to the plugin repo GitHub - sensorium/earsaver-lv2: EarSaver LV2 plugin for MOD Dwarf · GitHub

and the .mk plugins/package/earsaver/earsaver.mk

Thanks for any guidance. It’s my second time through the process, but it’s been a couple of years so I’m still fumbling.

You can try uploading the makefile here and test if it compiles.

Thanks Dave, that really helped. I got it going after some changes, and committed the new makefile.

Great!

For completeness, you can also compile and debug your makefile locally using GitHub - mod-audio/mod-plugin-builder: MOD Plugin Builder · GitHub .

@flump

Using the MOD Plugin Builder you should also get a link that you can share here. That will make it really easy for other users to test it.

Is this the right url? MOD Cloud Builder

It came up as a page with an “Install” button. It works for me - does that address work for others too?

Yes, that’s the link

I must say that I love the UI @flump :sweat_smile:

On the functionality of the plugin i have my questions. I’m not sure if it should not be some sort of system feature (maybe as a tool) for something like a “Testing/Pedalboard creation” mode

The pd abstraction is in the repo and is very simple, if you want to check the functionality. I’m open to any questions or improvements - once all the Mod gui and build stuff is sorted out, the actual dsp is by far the least part of the work!
I would have liked something like this as a system feature (maybe as part of the output limiter, with a way to perceptually set the loudest output to allow?).
Anyone who has a rummage through the beta plugins risks rapid unscheduled disassembly of their ability to hear. After some frightening audio blurts I had to find a solution. This does the job, so far, but a built-in test mode would be excellent.

Yes. That’s how I see it as well. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think that as a possibility.
