This is a great example of a topic to be discussed as we grow the community.
Here I have a pedalboard that is actually a “fork” of another by @Codeman
Since I just saved after loading from the Feed, it even got the same name.
Then there is not only the changes I did - adding the looper and drums + some adjustments - but there is also an audio track that is from my authorship.
What would be the best case (or cases) to license and release all this? Also, should we - and how to - track the “genealogy” of the pedalboards?
I’d love to hear @Codeman 's opinion on this, since he is the original creator
Maybe it would be nice to open a topic on this.
@jonobacon: what do you think?
best regards
Hi Gian,
that’s a good question… As I created the pedalboard I thought about recording a really good audio track as example. I haven’t done this because I had not enough time. I personally have no problem if another user makes a better track for demonstration but if I try to make a very good example (which may take some time), “overwriting” would be a good solution.
Is it a solution to allow more than one demo track per pedalboard (or a maximum for one user per pedalboard)? Perhaps they can be ordered by clicks on it…
Can variations be kept as “childs” of the original pedalboard? This may be a problem because doubled names mean that the new pedalboard is a child of another without the same intention of using and sound…
Best way (for me):
- every pedalboard gets a hidden number and the name is only an attribute
- pedalboards can have a parent-id
