Thought it might be useful for some of you to share this!
I use my Dwarf on the end of the chain for my live synth rig, with a Eurorack modular running into it and RMPro for mastering plus some mix buss effects, DJ style, and also to record the set.
I was finding the foot switches hard to actuate in time when I was toggling filters in and out and when using the looper. So I switched out the switches for these ones which are designed for operating by hand and have less travel so are more responsive when pressing.
If you’re interested in doing this you need 12mm momentary switches. It’s a pretty easy mod. Just have to open up the Dwarf, unscrew the jack connections on the back and then carefully remove the main PCB.
The switches are screwed to the case, and just attached by trailing wires. Two for each switch. You can de solder them from the switch (just melt the solder and they come off), and then screw the the switches into the case and solder the wires to them. Hard to get wrong, it doesn’t matter which of the two wires for each switch goes to which terminal as it’s just a simple switch.
This can be easily put back by just reversing the process so it isn’t destructive.
Please note I am almost certain this will invalidate any warranty so this is entirely at your own risk! My Dwarf is old and second hand and I have done this sort of thing before so I was comfortable doing it, but I take no responsibility for problems! Just sharing to show this is possible.
The switches I used were sourced from eBay here.
