My Dwarf arrived today, thanks for delivering on the promise and thanks for realising I was in the UK and shipping a UK power cable, it’s much appreciated
I’ve only had time to power it on and check that it comes to life, I’ll give it a proper test at the weekend hopefully
Fired it up, updated the firmware, made sure it worked (didn’t even connect a guitar), listed it on Kijiji, and sold today. Was a wild ride, surprised it even made it to me honestly. Maybe it would have been the best thing since sliced bread, but wasn’t excited enough to find out. Had already moved on, but glad I could recoup all the money.
Hope everyone else enjoys their device. I just wasn’t ready to continue the ride. Peace.
Can you recommend an alternate?
What did you buy instead?
In the time it took for Mod to get their act together, I went from:
- HX Stomp - Poor on device display, limited number of effect slots, found I needed Midi to help control it, and frankly didn’t sound terrific. Had it for 2 years and was glad to see it go.
to:
- Headrush MX5 - No computer app, realized I didn’t want a built-in expression pedal, company abandoned their users and brought out new devices. The device did sound good and editing on the device was great. Used it for almost 1 year.
to now:
- Ampero II Stomp - Sounds awesome, recent fabulous update, great on device screen for editing, great computer app.
So I can’t seem to find all the stretch goal plugins that were promised. Is there any way to access these?
bump.
Hi @rdomain
The plugins licenses are being sent in the next days. It is a manual process for the crowdfunding units.
Best
Any thoughts on when we might see a new firmware update for the Dwarf?
Hmmm, at Thomann, for example, I can no longer find a Mod Audio Dwarf. ![]()
It was still there recently. Maybe they sold out?
I still see it on some other stores, and apparently directly from MOD as well: MOD Dwarf Retail page - MOD Audio website
Being sold out could be good news, too. The company’s goal is to sell stuff, right?!
as long as they are still producing it, yes
Hi! Someone has any news about the Release version 1.14 of the Mod Dwarf?
Has the MOD Dwarf finally sold out in Japan?
According to the Keepa browser plugin, it was still in stock on Amazon.co.jp until October 2.
I think the Darkglass Anagram has been a big hit.
I believe it has kept MOD Audio developers busy with frequent updates and preparations for a future app store.
However, sometimes I’d like to hear some updates or progress regarding the statements above.
Are they still valid?
I haven’t even seen this “next steps” info until now. Sad that the 1.14 hasn’t been released yet. And a full release of Mod Desktop would be fantastic, hopefully fixing the freezing of the Jack service on Windows when stoppping and trying to start the service again.
Wonder if an updated kernel for the MDX is included in these steps
Which would give better built in drivers for more recent wifi dongles, to name one big improvement on its own.
Fingers crossed these things are around the corner and not years away.
I kind of hate to say it… but my absolutely uninformed prediction is minimal or no updates here, and then an Anagram Pro release in a couple years with new hardware and more of the flexibility we’ve all grown used to, for an eyewatering amount of money. I hope not, I would love for anyone in the know to tell me I’m way off and then for me to be totally proven wrong.
