Mod audio and modep

What’s the difference between MOD Audio (the software) and MODE P? I’ve done a lot of research. I’m coming from a setup with my Raspberry Pi 4 running Guitarix, an audio interface, and a MIDI controller, which worked excellently for me. But after much thought, I decided to switch to MOD Audio. However, I saw that it can’t be installed easily on a Raspberry Pi 4, and then I found MODE P. It really caught my attention, but honestly, I can’t tell what the difference is between the two, and even though I think I definitely have to go with MODE P, I’d like to know what I’m missing out on or if they are the same thing.

MOD AUDIO is a company that developed some HW products and the related software suite.

This suite is mostly based on open source software (linux, jack, guitarix, rackarrak and a huge number of other plugins…).

Most of the SW developed by MOD Audio has been released as open source (e.g. MOD-UI and MOD-HOST)

MODEP is a third party project, not directly related to MOD AUDIO, porting the MOD software suite to a Raspberry single board computer. It is backed (if I understand correctly) by BLOKAS, a company producing midi and audio interfaces for the RPI. (the native audio on rpi sucks). Now they also provide an online repo of (free) plugins

From a user perspective, MOD has an online store giving access to some commercial plugins (some very worthy). And no, I don’t think you can put it straight on a PI without going the MODEP way…
