Is there any reason not to use the x42 IR convolver for amp simulation?

I’ve heard it introduces 1 cycle of latency. Does that mean one sample or one buffer?

1 cycle is 1 buffer, so 2.666ms on 128 buffer size.

and the why not is latency related yes, for reverbs it does not matter as much but it does for distortion-like effects.
