Gatekeeper - Basic passthrough plugin

A while ago ( CPU usage on pedalboard and general advice - #2 by jon ) I asked if there is a plugin which can just cut off the sound and the solutions were not that satisfying to me so here is yet-another-llm-coded plugin!

By default if you add it into your chain it will not pass through any audio. If you press open it opens the “gates” with a super-fast fade to avoid clicks (you can control fade speed from the settings). But you can invert that behavior so default it’s passthrough and button-click closes the “gate”.

The point is that I can map my Dwarf switches to the “open” button so I can relabel them to the name of the following plugin and thus reduce noise by cutting off one of my parallel audio paths.

I made it as tiny as possible to not eat up too much UI real-estate.

This seems to me a quite handy idea! Especially when mixing it with the Porta, you can get pretty complex pedalboards stripped down to simpler ones and vice versa. Also, using this plugin, I see a big potential for building plugin chains that turn somehow to work as a single sound palette, so it’s like if you were turning on a single pedal, but actually a lot get “turned on”. One of the biggest pluses of the MOD platform. Of course, you could already do that somehow using CV and switches, but I guess this allows you to make it easier.
While thinking…this together with the Portal and with some smart CV multimapping thing can really be great.

I will give it a try asap

indeed I am using it primarily with Portal to keep multiple parallel audio paths switchable on/off
