I have quite some noise with the deliverd power supply with my Dwarf. I tried a lot and could tame it a bit with gain stageing, but it is a little dissapoiting. Then I tried the power supply from my Electron Digitakt and the noise reduced by half at least. Is this known and common?
Some users are reporting noise issues that get solved with a new power supply.
We are trying to find a solution for all of those that’s why we created the Ground Loop Compensation feature available on the device settings and also have a guide on “best practices” that you can find here.
Since the supplied power supply is the one that we used for the certifications process, we can’t recommend you to use a different one.
Yes thanks, I read the document and tried it all. The other power supply was by far the best solution in my case. A USB powerbank supply was the ultimate. But that is to be expected.
Most of us who have snagged new PSU’s have had massive reductions in noise.
The recommendation is double insulated non grounded PSU
This makes sense because you have the power totally isolated, so no room for loops.
This worked for me!
