One of my two Dwarfs are not receiving midi through USB A. Same settings and pedalboards on both units, containing only the Beta plugin Midi Display, same midi controller, same cable: One Dwarf displays incoming messages, the other one nothing.
Anyone come across a similar issue? Any help appreciated
Wow, strange ! To be sure, you have 1 Dwarf that recieve midi and another one that doesn’t ?
Exactly. Right now, I cannot see any other possibility than a hardware issue. The Dwarf receives midi through the midi port, but not through the USB A-port.
If the USB-A port works for other things than MIDI (Bluetooth dongle, USB Thumb Drive) then the issue is software and not hardware.
Yes, I would also assume that.
But the USB A-port worked for the BT dongle, but not for incoming midi.
So I cleaned the port on the inside (inserting a modified q-tip with proper cleaning fluid). I also scratched a bit between the soldering connections on the printboard itself, as they seemed very close. Just to widen the gaps a tiny bit.
And now incoming midi messages flow again!
