Dwarf - Crowdfunding Tier 3 - "? Edition"

you could just survey by email… we can just write numbers beside the names in a text list, rather than using a fancy online survey!

You can sort of do it with Google Forms.

Build it like this:

It looks like this:

The responses have the ideal granularity and will better reflect our intentions.
The tabular data is very easy to parse with Google Sheets.

No pressure

Remember the apostrophe in Founters’

Adding extra questions reduces the retention rate of surveys. It will be fine the way it is. It essentially does the same thing but in one question instead if 3 and all displayed in one place rather than hidden in dropdowns

Also your solution would segment the results into 3 sections that would need to be summed together afterwards while at the same time allowing people to vote for the same thing 3 times. The way it is now we can see a clear preference percentage for each option

Aside from this, the survey is already done and doesn’t make sense to change it now

It just creates extra work for us in collecting the data and as you know, we already have enough things to do haha. These tools are perfect for this

I’m a bit of Google Sheets nerd.
I’ll sum the results for you and I won’t even skew them in my favor :smirk::crossed_fingers:.

No need for that

Yesterday when I responded to this I said I would change it because I had a moment of embarrassment thinking that I got it wrong, but now I thought about it again and realised it’s actually correct without the apostrophe. It wasn’t intended in the possessive sense but in the plural sense of founders. That seems to be the norm for how this term is used for other products.

It’s common practice to drop the apostrophe for titles

No arguments from me, if the aim is to use Founders as a proper noun instead of the group the device was supported by then that makes total sense.

You can look at it like it’s named after the Founders

As I say, no arguments from me. It’s sometimes tricky to subdue the English Teacher in me! :joy:

It’s okay. My old man is a journalist so I’m used to being subjected to grammatical scrutiny

Careful… proper nouns are banned here

Because it’s English there are always grammatical loopholes.

For example, if the edition was released in honor of legendary guitar virtuoso and heartthrob Nigel Tufnel then Nigel Edition would be appropriate. Nigel’s Edition would be incorrect in this case because there’s no possession implied.

If it was in tribute to 90’s alt-pop sensation Smashing Pumpkins then we could all agree on Pumpkins Edition.

Founders Edition follows the same logic.

If that still grates at some peoples’ sensibilities (as it does mine) then Founder Edition works, too.

And seeing the only thing different about this version is aesthetics, so should the naming of the release. It just looks better without the apostrophe if this was the chosen name. :+1:

Is it possible to get mine without all the ‘3D’ etching on the top?

Unfortunately not. The Founders Edition will all have the engraving on the top. If you would not like the Founders Edition, the alternative is to have a regular black “crowdfunding edition”

Very well. Etching it is.

oeehhh when is this happening?

What’s the question? This topic is extremely old news.

Right now all remaining crowdfunding backers will receive the special “Founders Edition” version.

As a newcomer it’s hard to see when a thread is finished.
It’s impossible to know what the status of a thread is unless it syas closed or you read the full thing…
The same thing with the feature request thread; where does it start, where does it end and where is it going?

I’m new here and searching through the forum to see what the community is like
I see crowdfunding and am interested in joining.
But guessing from your reaction the crowdfunding project is over…
