Duo powered off during plugin install becomes unstable

Description

I was trying out a shared pedalboard and while some of the required plugins were installing, I accidentally powered down the Duo. The Duo would not boot past the splash screen after several tries. I initially tried the restore option which didn’t work. Re-installing the bootloader seemed to resolve my issue.

How to reproduce

  1. Install a pedalboard from the community site containing plugins not currently installed
  2. While new plugins are installing, power off the Duo

Expected/suggested solution

Duo should be able to recover from failed / interrupted plugin installations by either automatically rolling back to the last known good state at boot or having a retry / rollback manual option.

Thanks for the report @unbracketed.

EDIT: This only affects older versions of the MOD Duo.

I confirm this issue. Noting that you must turn it off while the plugin is actually “installing”, as you described. If you turn it off while it is “downloading” there will be no problem.

I’m adding it to the development issues.
