Not sure this is the best place to talk about this, but I’ve found a very interesting discussion on that topic, with precise measurements and Bode diagrams of both type of pickup, included while under load.
In particular, it shows the importance of the load and the cable capacitance
Then it made me think of this super cool DIY “cable amp” which basically allows you to turn any guitar into a somehow active one. I tried it long ago and it definitely had an effect on the tone and preserving the high frequencies coming from my strat.
