This is a feature which I’ve grown to love using in DAW environments, which doesn’t seem terribly difficult to implement in a LV2 plugin.
Some parameters stand to have their ‘feel’ greatly improved by a nonlinear mapping to the position of an expression pedal or knob or fader. It would be great to have a plugin which takes incoming CV values and maps them from linear to an adjustable curve.
I could see this working as a plugin similar to the CV Parameter Modulation plugin, which instead of applying a configurable linear remapping to the incoming CV value, applies a different mathematical function such as logarithmic or exponential.
A similar plugin would also come in handy for velocity values of incoming MIDI notes. I have found that this greatly helps to dial in the desired expressivity for some synth patches and especially with some finger drumming controllers.
If there are already ways to do this with existing MOD plugins then I apologize!
