Can't get MOD desktop working on ubuntu studio

Hi All,

Just taking a dive into MOD, starting with Desktop. I have it running, I set the audio device to my usb interface (using my Boss ME-80 multi effects unit.) If I set the audio device to jack/pipewire, I get a hideous feedback loop. I’ve tried connecting all different combos of an amp, cabiniet, and an effect, from left to right, even right to left. But I get no output audio. When I use the tuner, it works, so MOD desktop is getting and processing a signal. It’s probably one of those little stupid settings I’m overlooking, but I can’t figure out how to get audio out to my headphones, or laptop speaker.

Hi,

Just to sound test.

  1. Select “JACK/ PipeWire” at the Audio Device selection with “Duplex” option checked on MOD Panel.
  2. Check the connection on qpwgraph or qjackctl. (ME-80 capture - MOD Desktop audio-in - ME-80 playback)
  3. Set up MOD WebGUI.
  4. Insert a headphone to REC OUT / Phones jack of Boss ME-80.
  5. Check the sound.

I got it working! Only change I had to make was routing Pipewire to:
ME-80 Capture-Mod Desktop-Built in audio
Then I plugged headphones into my laptop. When I routed ME80 capture -MOD desktop-ME80 playback, I only heard the native ME80 pedalboard effects.

Thanks for getting me up and running!
