Can the Dwarf replace a Line Isolator?

I’ve read this post, but just want to make sure I got this right:

I use one of my two Dwarfs as last-of-chain device with overall reverb/EQ, Recorder/Player, and the MOD Auto Output Selector that sums to mono when only one output is connected.

I also own a Canvas Stereo DI/Line Isolator that I’ve not yet used, and my question is if this is would be obsolete. Using TRS to XLR cable from the Dwarfs balanced outputs, it seems to me that there is no need for a separate Line Isolator.

Any thoughts on this?

I would say in general it’s a nice tool to have (the Canvas Stereo DI/Line Isolator), but I only see a need for it if you face noise issues. If up to now you didn’t have problems, just keep it without.
“On a team that wins, you don’t touch”, as some would say

Are you saying I’ve been ignoring tha fact that these are balanced outputs all those years until today? :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I will say that since I started using a TRS → XLR cable from my Dwarf to my Zoom L8 mixer combined with a replacement power supply, I have not experienced any noise related issues. I agree with Jon - if it is working for you without the DI, then don’t fix it.

That’s a funny one @LievenDV  probably one of our most active users missing a little detail like that
Yes, indeed, the MOD Dwarf has balanced outputs. You can read that on the Technical Specifications page.

P.S.: On your defence, I just recently learned that it was possible to do something on the MOD Dwarf from a forum user  and I take care of the documentation :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: Needless to say, I’ve already included that on the wiki
