Hi Guys,

Have you tried to send MIDI Out from the Beat Buddy and set Looperlative to receive MIDI Clock from an external device?
The other way around may also be possible (so the Dwarf sends the clock to the Beat Buddy). But I don’t have a Beat Buddy, so I don’t know how to set it up.
To sync my Boss RC-10r to looperlative I use Midi Clock Source as external and Record Mode as Midi Sync. Should work with beat buddy too.
Thanks guys, I will try it out as soon as I get a midi cable for beat buddy.
Keep us posted about the results.

I can confirm that it works with BeatBuddy as explained above by @danielblues. Looperlative gets tempo from BB and syncronize accordingly. Two issues: 1) Assigning Record to a Dwarf button gives a little gap in the start of the loop. This is not the case when assigning that function to a midi controller. Then there’s no gap. 2) The midi clock drifts a tiny bit in the Dwarf, so if you keep the loop going for like a minute, the sync to the BB is no longer perfect. But for you average short loop to solo over, it works great.
With the boss looper I don’t have those issues, I record the with a Dwarf assigned button and I can annoy my family for over 15 min soloing over the same 4 chord progression without any sync issues ![]()
Even with a midi sync you have to get the loop start right, it’s just before and near the loop point. It’s much more forgiven when you record the loop on the RC-10r.
I’ve just started making some tests — it works, but only partially. I cannot record a longer loop than one bar; it stops recording after one bar - the loop is perfectly synced with BB. But why does it cut the loop? I’m not stopping the recording — it cuts on its own. Any ideas?
Can you check what other settings do you use? It does not work here, it cuts the loop after one bar. No idea what should I set in a different way.
Thats strange. I’ll have a look at it.
Do we have midi cc filter?
Can you split you midi out from the buddy into some thing like this Protokol | hexler.net ?
You can filter notes and check if it’s sending midi start or any thing that looperlative might handle.
