Additional audio inputs for the dwarf

Hello, I would be interested to know if you can now connect a USB audio interface to the Dwarf to get more audio inputs. And especially a way that you get implemented even as a non-Linux administrator :-).

I’m currently experimenting with taking each string of the guitar individually. If you could use that mobile, so without having a computer with you then it would be very cool of course.

So you have a guitar with 6 outputs ?
(and want a dwarf with 6 inputs ?)

Hey mate,

Pretty sure I’ve requested this feature quite a bit, and it has been discussed before.

I don’t believe the feature has materialized quite yet, and am unsure if it is on the roadmap.

Turning the MOD units into usb audio interface was a planned feature at some point.

In fact:

I just found this random article covering linux compatible audio interfaces that mentions MOD being used for this application, but is inaccurate.

Hopefully that feature does get developed because I also would love to expand my I/O lol

Edit for MOD Team:

Here is the link to the article in case you want to reach out regarding this article.

Basicaly, yes. But the guitar itself has no 6 out. It is equiped with a Roland GK3 pickup. Contrary to popular belief, this is not a midi pickup but a single-string pickup that picks up each string individually. The conversion of the tones of the individual strings then takes over the corresponding effect device such as the Boss SY1000 or the Roland GR55. But with an appropriate adapter or cable like this one (BREAKOUT CABLES), you can tap the audio signals of the individual strings and then route them individually to a DAW or effect device with a corresponding number of inputs.

The fun begins when you, for example, give the two low strings an octaver down, the two middle slightly distorted and put a solo sound on the top two. Even the same distortion on each string individually sounds completely different than if you put the same effect on a usual “all strings on one audio signal” signal.
