Add mute functionality to utility plugins

I recently discovered that there are not many options to actually mute a signal path. Only the TinyGain plugins seem to have a mute button.

In many cases this might be fine but this plugin comes with the cost of metering which can have impact on the signal chain as I learned from falkTX here:

One bad use of plugins that I see a lot is having a meter-like plugin in the middle of the chain, that could be split instead.
Imagine:

plugin1 -> plugin2 -> meter -> plugin3

meter has to wait for plugin2, and plugin3 needs to wait for the meter plugin.
instead we could simply do:

plugin1 -> plugin2 |-> plugin3 -> more plugins
                   |-> meter

this way we can have a meter in the pedalboard without it causing less time for the important plugins.

something to keep in mind.

A possible workaround is to use a Switchbox, ToggleSwitch or Mixer. Switcher are really a workaround since they’re additional plugins and the purpose is not really clear just by looking at it. The mixer is pretty big and kinda overkill just for this purpose.

Therefore I suggest to add mute functionality to the following plugins:

• Volume
• Volume 2x2
• Gain
• Gain 2x2
