A CV vs knob curiosity

while trying to set up some device controls for the guitarix livelooper, i’ve noticed a strange thing:

the play and rplay parameters, which control forward and reverse play, respond differently when mapped to device knobs than they do when mapped to an internal CV port.

KNOB: moving the knob not only switches to its corresponding direction of playback, but also changes volume of playback continuously, as it’s raised or lowered.

CV: the parameters become only an on/off playback direction switch (once one of those parameters hits half of full-scale, the corresponding direction is engaged) – there’s no volume change with intermediate values.

is this a bug or a feature?
is it a generalized behaviour which could be observed in many other parameter mappings, or is it specific to the guitarix livelooper?

in this specific case, the fading AND switching behaviour of the knob is really useful for me, and i was disappointed to see that become unavailable when using CV control.

anyone have any inside wisdom on this?

I had this open for a while waiting for better days to answer…and also a better answer. Sorry @plutek
We will need to investigate this a bit further. But as it’s still a beta plugin we may take a while.
I hope that is fine for you.
