Hmmm, at Thomann, for example, I can no longer find a Mod Audio Dwarf. ![]()
It was still there recently. Maybe they sold out?
I still see it on some other stores, and apparently directly from MOD as well: MOD Dwarf Retail page - MOD Audio website
Being sold out could be good news, too. The company’s goal is to sell stuff, right?!
as long as they are still producing it, yes
Hi! Someone has any news about the Release version 1.14 of the Mod Dwarf?
Has the MOD Dwarf finally sold out in Japan?
According to the Keepa browser plugin, it was still in stock on Amazon.co.jp until October 2.
I think the Darkglass Anagram has been a big hit.
I believe it has kept MOD Audio developers busy with frequent updates and preparations for a future app store.
However, sometimes I’d like to hear some updates or progress regarding the statements above.
Are they still valid?
I haven’t even seen this “next steps” info until now. Sad that the 1.14 hasn’t been released yet. And a full release of Mod Desktop would be fantastic, hopefully fixing the freezing of the Jack service on Windows when stoppping and trying to start the service again.
Wonder if an updated kernel for the MDX is included in these steps
Which would give better built in drivers for more recent wifi dongles, to name one big improvement on its own.
Fingers crossed these things are around the corner and not years away.
I kind of hate to say it… but my absolutely uninformed prediction is minimal or no updates here, and then an Anagram Pro release in a couple years with new hardware and more of the flexibility we’ve all grown used to, for an eyewatering amount of money. I hope not, I would love for anyone in the know to tell me I’m way off and then for me to be totally proven wrong.
Hi, are you still going to release MOD OS 1.14?
Yes, though when that comes out is a good question.
WiFi was planned for this release but was already dropped as it would introduce too much breakage and support burden.
USB Audio is nice, but perhaps can be skipped 1 release so it doesn’t delay it much further.
That said, the hard work has been done already and an implementation is in place for the Dargklass Anagram unit. The work here would be to backport the feature, but different Linux kernel versions make that not so simple (the Anagram doesn’t run mainline).
If we take out USB Audio, the only remaining thing left is the drag & replace feature, which is half-way complete but needs a bit of polishing.
Then having a look at what @AndreaDelSignore has been cooking and see what can be imported
Likely not for 1.14 so we can just focus on getting a release, any release, out there.
Some portions for plugin meta-data have already been merged, but its really just the beginning.
Any chance to see a bi-directional MIDI ?
If this is a specific feature request then perhaps ask it in Feature Requests - MOD Audio Forum
Already an old and popular demand…
The code to do bidiectional midi and some extras is already done, by me years ago.
It’s not complicated, the works been done, all they needed to do was merge it with their code base.
They never have though.
Which PR on what project is it?
Of course things are never as easy as “just merge”. Things need proper review and testing as well.
But it is also nice to see issues/features resolved in a (somewhat) timely manner.
ps: we are really going massively off-topic here of course
Look at last post here recently: Starless unofficial Dwarf image - ALABS - #165 by AndyCap
It can’t be as easy as “just merge” I guess as they never really “just merge” anything ![]()
I guess someone else could take that code and put in another PR for it, would be totally fine with me if they did that.
Shouldn’t have closed the PR. It did say that @falkTX wanted to review MIDI things for 1.14 indeed, but best to leave things open until someone has time to work on it.
Randomly closing things because you feel it’s taking too long gives the wrong message. imo.
Good stuff, you take the code and give a PR a try ![]()
I closed it because falkTX said it would not be merged to me, so no point having it open?
The longer things go unmerged the more the code base diverges, after a while it makes these things pointless as too much as changed.
Who knows maybe it hasn’t, you could have a look, I’m sure you would have more success than me…
Edit: I have reopened them all for you.
