Thank you for the suggestion! Out of stock on Amazon right now but I’ll check other places. Have a great holiday!
cheers and you.
sorry if i might be off topic but it is still not possible to create a new forum post. I just bought a MOD DUO X. Thanks in advance, Emiliano
My recommendation for Midi foot controller: The JET MCX; the most compact one with massive porssibilities: 3 foot-switches with up to 16 MIDI controll sends by per footswitch; 5 Foot-switch gestures; 8 Banks; 18 Midi Types (Control Change, Program Change, Press n’release etc.); Editing via Browser (Chrome only); Very cool looking, very, very small, good and easy editing. I have this device two times, it is the smallest and for its size the best. I also tested a lot of other Midi foot controllers, the best has been Morningstar MC3. This is really a cool device, it can do even more as compared with the JET MCX. But it is 3 times bigger, and the difference is not huge. That is why I am using the JET.
Hey guys, just wanted to make sure before doing anything. Can you insert wireless bluetooth dongle in usb A of the mod dwarf and connect it to samsung tab access webgui— will it still be able to send midi cc pc? Coz what Ive read, if you insert a cable to usb B port to a PC, midi cc/pc wont work, right?
im thinking a Samsung tab, wireless and then a midi captain via Midi trs to send midi cc pc.
If not, ill use the Usb A instead to make my own midi via usb midi controller, DIY… No webgui while using it
thanks ahead
Hi @pickcut_studios
I’m not sure a standard bluetooth dongle will work, but a widi-USB is designed for this use.
Hi thanks for responding.
No im not trying to send the midi wirelessly. Ill use a usb cable from DIY midi controller…
the wireless dongle is for a Samsung tab Ill use as a webGui monitor on my board. I can also edit via the tab using Chrome and the webgui. Ive checked the usb bluetooth dongle that works with the mod dwarf in this forum… However if this impedes the midi capabilities of the mod dwarf- I wont use the Samsung tab wireless setup.
Oh sorry, I didn’t understand the 2 things here !
For the bluetooth-dongle part, it’s not a pleasant experience, in my experience it never worked when I needed it, so I let it down. Wifi is much better (faster and easier connectivity), but it requires a rooter (for now), and it’s simpler to travel with a laptop than a rooter for me…
For the midi via USB, I don’t know the midi captain, but I think it will work straight out of the box with the Dwarf. I have experienced only Morningstar devices and that is the case (the Dwarf even powers the MC6 controller via USB)
Thank you! Ive read there’s requirements when choosing the dongle… BT 5.0 is not working with the dwarf and you need to be in airplane mode. Anyway, cool—thanks for the router idea. Yeah, the midi captin should.
My question actually is if I use the BT Dongle with the Midi Captain on the Midi DIN to TRS—coz using webGui wired to a Pc will turn off Midi capabilities (I read). So, will it work?
Midi is not turn off when connected to webGUI, only changing pedalboards with the Dwarf or with midi : you only can change pedalbord with the webGUI when it is connected.
Sorry, this makes knots in my brain, I don’t understand this… can you explain what is plugged with what ?
Yes (but Bluetooth is a mess…)
Okay, should work too without problem
Midi Captain DIN out → Dwarf midi jack in ?
If that’s the question : yes, no problem with this !
yes, Midi Din from midi captain to dwarf Midi over Trs! That’s what I mean.
I think I have the answers I want—thank you so much for this.
I just need the tablet to be like monitor while using/changing the snapshot/pedalboard on the dwarf.
Coz if it didnt work (messy as you said). I will not use it. Instead use its Usb slot on the dwarf for a Usb midi controller, not a Din midi controller like the Midi Captain. The cost of making my own midi controller vs. the midi captain is significant hehe
Thanks again
