Hi, my name is Matthias from Berlin. I am a guitarist and music producer and would like to learn more about the MOD Dwarf, especially the looper functions at the moment.
I hope that I can gain further MOD insights through this community and later share my knowledge here as well.
I’m looking into getting a MOD Dwarf, love all that it can do! Seems like the options are almost endless. I do have one question. Currently I have a Mooer GS1000 and it has my favorite feature ever. I can connect to the unit via bluetooth and stream THRU the device. This allows me to play along with songs, send click, guides, tracks THRU the unit to FOH. I know the Dwarf needs a USB dongle, but would I be able to configure it to to the same thing?
Anyway, as mod is an embedded platform with far less flexibility it could be really difficult and may require some modification of the os
in this case a cheap workaround could be adding an extra USB audio interface and plug a bt receiver on it. Then on the gui connect the new interface to the output on parallel with the guitar effects path. It would cost something around 20€, I think
I’ve been playing music a long time, guitarist, song-writing, bass. I hope to use a MOD device to augment live performances with synth / keyboard sounds, simply triggered by a midi controller. I’ll be looking for classic rock synth sounds e.g. Simple Minds to expand the palette of the cover band I’m in.
These devices show such promise for that kind of music - many rich sounds in a small box.
I’m starting with an old Mod Duo… since that’s the easiest one to acquire. It’s not here yet
Hey - Another solution with the Dwarf, is to load your backing tracks onboard as either MIDI or MP3 files, and you can control them directly onboard and use the audio outputs of the Dwarf. Use a separate patch for each song. Good luck, Steve
Hey there, sorry I am new to this form and trying to introduce myself. My name is Spiro Dussias, i’m a guitarist, and engineer. I just ordered a mod dwarf as it seems like the only piece of gear that will allow me to do the things I plan to do. Im very interested in hiring developers to create specific modules for the platform. My instagram is @spirodussias
Hi all,
Thought I’d introduce myself as well.
I’m Marko and live in Sweden. I’ve been making electronic music for well over 15 years. Last decade has been a search for trying to find ways to perform electronic music live with more of a human touch, basically meaning electronic music with human imperfection. The search continues still and most likely will for the forseeable future.
I only recently got the chance to get my hands on an Duo X. It is my first encounter with Mod Audio devices and boy did I have a pleasant surprise. I remember reading about the Mod devices a few years back, but for some reason it didn’t stick with me then. It is only now that I have started to realize the huge greatness and potential with these devices and this company.
From my initial testing the Mod Duo X is up there with the Octatrack in greatness. And that should say a lot about my feelings regarding this device. It is up there tickling my senses like the true legend among musical devices.
I do not remember when I was as exicted or having jaw dropping realizations last time as with the Mod Duo X. It is like when I first got the Octatrack and started to get the grips of it and saying “Oh my God” to myself when understanding things.
So, long story short. Please, please, please Mod Audio, please survive and thrive You are really needed on the market. And I see your (the people behind Mod Audio’s) passion. I know it is all out of your control, and you tried to get a steady foothold in a very strange time in history (covid and all the disruptions that followed). But I truly hope Mod Audio can start thriving and becoming a power house in the near future. There is nothing quite like this on the market and I’m hooked.
Hello, I find this forum extremely confusing. I wish I could blame old age or something, but it’s so difficult to navigate and the fact I need to reach level 1 to post in the support forum is just… so frustrating.
At the moment, I can’t use my Mod Dwarf because the WebUI stopped working out of nowhere. I posted my progress in one of the topics on the troubleshooting forum but when I wanted to make a final update, I was not allowed to post any more replies.
I mean… how am I supposed to feel about continue use of this pedal if this is my experience with having an issue with it? I signed up, I found a suitable topic instead of creating a new post and I get hit with an arbritary.
I’m sorry if this comes off as very negative, but I’m trying to be honest about my experience.
Yeah Discourse (the forum software) has a lot of these automated moderation tools that take a while to get used to. It’s not at all like the classic internet forums. Here it’s “gamified” with levels and such.
hey @dystopiker, sorry for the trouble and bad experience. As @dreamer mentioned, we use Discourse and a lot of things are automated on that for security reasons.
I manually updated your trust levels, so now you should be able to post freely.
Let us know about your issue and we hope to be able to help you out.
Call me GothFvck , Mister GothFvck , Gothy , Eryck , or when it’s time to eat .
I started playing bass in 2000. Recorded on a NYHC / crossover album in 2002. Played plenty of shows around Long Island. Booked some. Promoted. Ran sound with In The Pit Productions and others. Took some breaks from the breakdowns.
Somebody added me to the Encyclopedia Metallum!

I got into GNU+Linux in 2004 with Fedora Core. Distro hopped. Built Gentoo. Tinkered with hardware. Now I’m on Ubuntu Studio and Fedora Jam or Design Suite. Will find a machine to try out AV Linux when the next version with Enlightenment DE is available.
Spent plenty of times on various forums. I miss how the web used to be and how society was before all the data harvesting and surveillance and sheer craziness of people.
These last few years I’ve been getting back into music. Been learning more about the musicianship side of things with maintenance, setup, all the hardware of instruments, amps, effects, et. al. I’ve been learning scales, practicing more, and revisioning songs by my old bands to re-record. I’ve been writing and recording new material.
A while back I found the Dwarf but, I’ve either not had the money or it hasn’t been available. Hoping to get one in a few weeks or maybe build my own‽
I’m so glad to see a product like this. This is what the world needs.
Recent Mod Dwarf user joining in! Really loving the device and it’s been a great centerpiece for my guitar rig. I was wondering though what the future holds for this? Are features still being worked on? Is there a roadmap anywhere that can be looked at?
Hey @rolkinn, first of all, welcome to the community!
I’m happy to learn that you are enjoying your new MOD Dwarf
I totally understand the question, but if we have recent shows for us, is that new users (and old ones as well) should fear nothing about the development of the device and the platform.
Yes, the “official” development slew down, yet things are moving on.
On the other side, even if there was nothing official being developed, stuff like the Starless unofficial Dwarf image - ALABS or the plugins released recently by @DaveM (and others) show how the platform (and development community) is so alive. So I would really have no fear and simply enjoy what the device, platform and this great community can offer
